Code Of Conduct 3

Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at our events, including online forums and live chat spaces within the Humans of Code community, are required to adhere to the following code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event and within the community. We expect cooperation from all participants to help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone.

The Quick Version

Humans of Code is committed to providing a harassment-free experience for all participants, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. Harassment, abuse, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind will not be tolerated.

Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate in any community space, including live chat spaces, discussion forums, private messages, social media, or in-person events. Spamming or self-promotional content that is intrusive or disruptive is strictly prohibited.

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in sanctions, including warnings, temporary bans, or permanent removal from the community.

The Detailed Version

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Offensive verbal or written comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion.
  • Sharing sexual images, making inappropriate sexual advances, or any sexually inappropriate behaviour in public or private spaces.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, doxxing, following, or cyberbullying.
  • Harassing photography or recording.
  • Sustained disruption of talks, events, or online discussions.
  • Unwanted or inappropriate private messaging.
  • Malicious impersonation of other community members.
  • Any attempt to circumvent bans or restrictions.

Community Guidelines for Live Chat and Online Discussions

  • Respectful Communication: Always engage in discussions respectfully. Personal attacks, inflammatory remarks, or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • No Spam or Self-Promotion: Unsolicited promotion of services or products is strictly forbidden. Anyone caught spamming or using the community for commercial gain will be permanently banned.
  • No Publishing Internal Content: Discussions within Humans of Code are private. Members are not permitted to share posts, screenshots, or content outside the community without prior permission from organisers.
  • No Posting Affiliate Links: Posting affiliate links without explicit approval from an organiser is prohibited. Violators will have their content removed and may be banned.
  • AI-Generated Content Disclosure: Any AI-generated content in discussions must be explicitly disclosed (e.g., using a [AI-Generated] tag). Repeat offenders will be banned.
  • No Fake Profiles or Impersonation: Using a fake identity, impersonating another person, or creating multiple accounts to bypass rules will result in immediate removal from the community.
  • No Cross-Posting or Duplicate Content: Posting the same topic or content across multiple channels within the community is not allowed. Choose the most relevant space for your discussion.

Sponsors and Volunteers

Sponsors are also subject to this Code of Conduct. Sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other inappropriate materials in their promotions. Volunteers and organisers are expected to uphold these standards and create an inclusive, professional, and welcoming environment.

Enforcement

If a participant violates this Code of Conduct, the organisers may take any action they deem appropriate. Actions may include warnings, temporary removal, or permanent bans from the community.

If you experience or witness harassment, or if you have any concerns, please contact an organiser immediately. In online spaces, organisers and moderators are identifiable by their roles and can take swift action, including muting, removing messages, or banning offenders. We take all reports seriously and will ensure appropriate measures are taken to uphold the community’s integrity and safety.

We expect all participants to follow these rules in all event venues, social events, and online community spaces. By engaging with Humans of Code, you agree to adhere to these standards and contribute to a positive, respectful community
